Got a 9 to 12 year old who fancies themselves a bit of a sculptor, or at least enjoys making things with their hands This workshop is all about getting messy, in the best possible way, creating Australian animals out of air dry clay. A friendly artist educator will be on hand to gently guide these miniature Rodins through the basics of hand building, then help them figure out how to add some proper texture to their critters before they give them a splash of watercolour paint. Think koalas that actually look like koalas, or maybe even a platypus that does not entirely resemble a baked potato.

As if getting gooey with clay was not enough fun, participants will also pop over to Blak Douglas's exhibition, The Halfway Line. It is a prime opportunity to snoop around for inspiration from the animals he has featured in his own artwork, ensuring everyone has some brilliant ideas buzzing around before the real creative fun begins.
